viewers here in the united states and around the world. i m christine romans. we begin with the buffalo bills revealing just a short time ago what happened to safety damar hamlin who collapsed during last night s game in cincinnati. the team says hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field. he remains in critical condition. right now here s a live picture outside cincinnati s uc medical center where he is being treated this hour. carolyn manno has the story. reporter: one important note is that his heart was restored on the field. you saw the startling, chilling images of cpr right there. of all of the nfl players around him. he s being administered cpr. he was transferred to that hospital. right now he s sedated and still in critical condition. they released a statement a couple of hours ago. i don t anticipate they will add to that. i think that s all we re going to hear from now. the hospital is expecting to update us on his condition but, again, i don t think th
stories in the spotlight, a 76-year-old ecuador woman is back in hospital after a frightening ordeal. she was declared dead after a possible stroke and cardiopulmonary arrest. her family held awake just hours later but that is when they heard knocking on the coffin lid from inside and realized that she was still alive. her son posted this video of the incident on social media. he immediately called 911 and the woman was taken back to the same hospital where she was declared dead. ecuador s health ministry says the woman is in intensive care and an investigation is under way. what do you say? i mean, i m shocked. you do hear these stories occasionally and apparently some drugs can give the appearance of death. but it is a lot of people s worst nightmare. they measured the vital signs to declare her dead and there are circumstances that those signs may be weak. but this is very worrying.
