Georgetown Visitation edged Bishop Ireton (Va.) 10-9 in overtime Wednesday on Molly McGuckin’s third goal of the game, and the Cubs are now No. 1.
McGuckin also had six draw controls and keyed the Cubs’ second-half possession. Sally Zinsner scored two goals, and Allie Boyce, Molly Finlay, Ella O, Megan Meyers and Madison Rassas all had one goal apiece.
The defense held Ireton scoreless over the final four minutes. Their next game isn’t scheduled until May 17 against Paul VI (Va.).

Central Coast Section Commissioner Dave Grissom took a deep breath Wednesday night, chuckled, and reflected on the 30-hour roller-coaster ride in which high school sports were saved, lost, then saved again.
A Santa Clara County health order that could have ended the first of two planned seasons for about half of the CCS schools had just been reversed.
