Tell us a little about yourself I have a background working in Brighton’s bars and restaurants. In 2011 I opened The Coal Shed restaurant in Boyces Street. The recipe was simple: great quality meat cuts cooked over charcoal on a Josper grill oven. It was a big success and was later followed by The Salt Room beneath the Brighton Metropole hotel, showcasing locally sourced seafood. In 2017, I opened a second Coal Shed branded restaurant at One Tower Bridge in London, Burnt Orange is my fourth venue. What is the concept behind Burnt Orange and what can guests expect? Burnt Orange is an all-day and late-night hangout where we want to combine great food, music and drinks. When guests come to Burnt Orange, they’ll find somewhere where they can catch up with friends, hang out and just have fun.

Mr Bishopp, who is due to finish his term as mayor next month, said he hoped his successor would continue the awards as it was important to recognise those who went above and beyond.

Less popular was the decision to close the town s tourist information centre at the town hall. West Norfolk council replaced it with an un-staffed tourist information point in the Old Coal Shed on LeStrange Terrace. Hundreds signed a petition against the move, organised by the town s civic society.

An action group, led by the resortâs Civic Society, was subsequently set up to fight for the return of staffed provision, with thousands of people signing a petition in support of the idea.
And Civic Society chairman, Amanda Bosworth, said this week: âWe are very pleased that our intensive work over the past nine months in campaigning for reinstatement of a staffed tourist information provision has resulted in a positive outcome for Hunstanton residents, businesses and visitors.â

Something for the Weekend, Sir? Let me be absolutely clear about this… As soon as you hear these words, you know the rest of the sentence will be evasive, meandering, and vague.
Language is an amusing and infuriating kludge of ambiguity. Getting yourself understood within the IT industry is a particular challenge. Even everyday desktop interactions with software requires a big conceptual leap of faith into a universe of virtual proxy objects associated via increasingly freaky nomenclature.
Files? Folders? They re not really there, but OK, we can pretend. Easy. Then, quite out of the blue, we get crazy stuff such as Volumes, Clouds, Signals and Platforms. I hate to break it to you but these words do not conjure the same concepts in the minds of ordinary, sane people as they apparently do with IT people.
Mare Island Brewing Co. provides artisanal beers, food amid pandemic uncertainty
MARE ISLAND The Mare Island Brewing Company taproom, located about 25 steps from the Vallejo Ferry Terminal, seems to be a perfect place to stop in and relax after a long day at work.
Co-founders Kent Fortner and Ryan Gibbons opened the business in 2013 because they wanted to serve up some beers and maybe a little food.
Both are formally taught in the winemaking business but took those skills and started making home-brewed beer.
Fortner originally hailed from Kansas but made his way west as he gained a formal education in the winemaking business. Soon he found himself in Napa in the late 1990s. He and his wife, Janet, (and their two children) bought and restored the old officer’s “Quarters U” on Mare Island in 2007, and the seed for the idea of Mare Island Brewing Co. was born.
