Current outlook is a democratic net gain in the house. Nancy pelosi is in line to expand her majority and there are a couple reasons why the picture in the house is pretty much a mirror image of what we thought a year ago when they be republicans pick up a handful of seats. That republicans are really being dragged down by trump in what i would characterize as second order suburb. Are suburbs of traditionally conservative metro areas. A lot of the democrats flipped blue were suburbs of really blue major metro areas like the suburbs of denver orner than virginia. Or northern virginia. Seeing st. Louis, omaha, cincinnati. Places that are more traditionally conservative but where republicans are struggling to rise above that drag. Is money. Factor democrats have outraised republicans all cycle. President ial election. Lets start with chicago. This last summer was the 50th anniversary of the Democratic National convention in chicago. I dont know if any of you saw, there was a couple of specials. We have some of footage that is pretty shocking for people to see nowadays. Before 1972, most of the delegates to both conventions were elected through back channels, small party conventions. In 1968, 73 of democratic delegates through the convention had been elected this way. Less than 25 were elected in the way we normally do it. President Lyndon Johnson took himself out of the race. He was not up for reelection in 1960 eight. This initiated a freefall in the Democratic Party between a number of candidates. One of which, who was very popular, was unfortunately dead by august of 1968. That was robert kennedy. He had been a unifying candidate for many people in the party. He was assassinated in june of 1968. That is one thing that is lying behind the convention in august of 1968. The k
