Kone and Davis Grab World Leads at Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. - Jeremiah Davis and Ismael Kone ended the day with a bang as each of them posted world-leading marks at the first day of the Clemson Invitational. Kone broke the school record in the 60m dash with a time of 6.51. Kone's mark is tied for the 11th-fastest mark in NCAA history, and it broke Andre Ewers' and Dentarius Locke's school record. Davis's mark of 8.17m is good enough for third on FSU's all-time list.

Noles Punch Ticket to NCAA Cross Country Championships

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Florida State women's cross country team put together a phenomenal performance on Friday morning to punch their ticket to the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Stillwater, Okla., on Nov. 19. The ladies finished second in the team standings with 88 points to take one of the two automatic qualifying spots. The men finished fourth with 134 points. Emmy van den Berg led the way with another great performance clocking a personal best time of 19:47.70. van den Berg finished sixth to earn all-region honors. Alyson Churchill also put together a career-best performance with a time of 19:59.70 to earn all-region honors with an 11th-place finish. Agnes McTighe also earned all-region honors with a personal best time of 20:02.80 to finish 14th. Caitlin Wilkey (20:33.50) and Rebecca Bergnes (20:37.00) each put together personal best performances to finish 28th and 29th to round out the scoring for the Seminoles. McTighe, van den Berg and Curtain Tab All-ACC Honors at ACC Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Florida State men's and women's cross country teams tallied three All-ACC honors Friday morning at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, Va. The women finished fifth in the team standings while the men finished ninth. In the first race of the day, Fearghal Curtain ran a season-best 23:25.6 in the 8k race. Curtain was able to stay in the front pack for most of the race and made a late push to earn 21st. Curtain's performance earned him All-ACC honors. Cooper Schroeder ran a personal best 23:48.1 to finish 42nd in the field. Zach Leachman (24:10.9), Zach Cloud (24:28.6) and Matthew Newland (24:42.2) rounded out the top five for the Seminoles. The women had a great day on the course, and it was led by Emmy van den Berg. Van den Berg got off to a great start and stayed in the front pack for the first half of the race.
