District 1 - Baudette area
CO Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck South) reports working snowmobiling and angling activity throughout this past week. Anglers reported a slow bite despite their efforts in the bitter cold. Time was spent patrolling area trails and handling trespassing complaints. Enforcement action included possession of dressed fillets on the ice, allowing illegal snowmobile operation by juveniles and snowmobiles trespassing on agricul

District 1 – Baudette area
CO Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck) reports working trapping, snowmobiling, and angling activity this past week. Time was spent patrolling area trails, assisting Bemidji DNR Wildlife with the bobcat/fur registration and conducting follow-up investigation of ongoing trapping cases. Regas also handled two separate incidents of incidental catches of wolves in trappers’ coyote sets.
CO Marc Johnson (Warroad) assisted with furbearer registration and worked angling activity on Lake of the Woods and at the Northwest Angle. Violations encountered included fishing with extra lines, taking fish with no angling license, no permanent shelter tag/identification, and no angling license in possession.

District 11 - St. Cloud area
CO (Conservation Officer) Keith Bertram (Long Prairie) checked an angler using too many lines. The angler told Bertram he was switching lines and never pulled up the first two. His excuse was he became distracted trying to find a date using Match.com on his phone.

District 10 - Mille Lacs area
CO Victoria Griffith (Isle) monitored snowmobile, ATV, and angling activity on Mille Lacs Lake. Anglers reported fishing to be slower over the weekend, with the night bite picking up. Enforcement action was taken for angling without a license, fishing with extra lines, and no shelter tag. Griffith would like to remind anglers to clean up their area and pick up garbage before leaving the ice.
CO Dan Starr (Onamia) worked fishing, snowmobile, and trapping activities. A dispute over plowed road areas on the lake was addressed and continues to be monitored. Violations for no fishing license, no snowmobile registration, lack of safety training, and no fish house license were found.
