away from the memorial that s been set up here at 64th and international. it was just over a week ago that carlos was hit in the neck by a stray bullet during a drive-by shooting. two other men who were walking in front of carlos were also hit. but they survived. police do believe that this shooting was gang-related. it was this past friday that authorities arrested 22-year- old willie torrence of oakland in las vegas. they believe the man is responsible for driving the car the day of the shooting. he was out on parole for a prior weapon conviction and was spotted while out driving in las vegas. took a 3-year-old life. that was an angel. i just hope that they get prosecuted to the fullest behind what they did. they killed a 3-year-old. that changed the whole game. reporter: now, 26-year-old oakland resident lawrence dennard is the man police believe killed nava with that stray bullet. he was arrested in pittsburg this past tuesday and then on thursday, he was arraigne
organized. and the investigation will continue into where the cards came from and others who might be involved. reporter: although it s too early to make the case, because of the magnitude of the evidence, police don t think they acted alone. the cloned debit cards look like blank cards without any writing on them except the account and p.i.n. numbers and a black magnetic strip. police say the victims could be from anywhere in the country and clearly there was an extensive operation to get the banking information. they obviously collected a large number of account numbers. we don t know where they got those from. reporter: the secret service is now handling the case because there are so many of these cloned debit cards and also because there are potentially so many victims. it will be up to the secret service then to decide whether there are additional suspects they can go after. in pleasant hill, ann notarangelo, cbs 5. now to a disturbing new twist in the garrido ca
