Thirty-five residents at the home have died since Nov. 20, just three days after it reported its first cases. Sixty-seven of the homeâs 68 residents along with 38 of its employees were infected as of Dec. 8, according to self-reported data to the state.
George Stauffer, the homeâs administrator, did not respond to a phone call and email seeking comment.
To date, the deadliest month in the county was April, when the virus killed 183 people. The countyâs death toll from the virus was 570 Wednesday night.
âBefore this, the majority of deaths either occurred at the hospital or were people who died in their homes,â Diamantoni said Wednesday. âNow there are more extended-care facility deaths than in November.â
