The 3food4u charity has been nominated for the Joseph and Lilian Sully Foundation donation and to Essex County Council (Essex Association of Local Councils) for grant funding lockdown support for the community by Loughton Town Council and mayor Cllr Stella Murphy. This is set to help provide a vital lifeline for so many in these challenging times. Organisers have thanked Urbanest and Rose and Gus Kearin for facilitating the donation of 600 food packs including super noodles, coke, playing cards and sweets to the project. The donations will be used to feed several hundred families in the local area.
The 3food4u initiative will be opening a fifth hub A community project that is continuing to provide help to those in need during the national lockdown is expanding again by opening a fifth community surplus hub at the end of this month. The 3food4u charity, which offers free food, home essentials, clothes and toys without assessment or referral, is launching its next hub on Thursday, January 28 from 1pm to 2.30pm and weekly thereafter. This will be based at Zinc Arts, High Street, Chipping Ongar CM5 0AD and it means 3food4u will be able to operate six sessions a week.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced tougher restrictions would be necessary to try and curtail the surge in Covid-19 cases in a TV address to the nation on Monday night. The 3food4u initiative is allowed to continue to provide its service during lockdown and a normal timetable will still be in operation to help the community when its needed the most. The service is open five days a week and operates on a non-referral, non-assessment basis, so people can just drop in on the following days at one of these hubs:
Santa with 3food4u s volunteers in Waltham Abbey A charity offering vital help to those in need during the coronavirus pandemic is now able to operate five days a week after launching its latest community surplus hub. The 3food4u initiative, established by the Rotary Club of Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and Chigwell, has opened its newest base at All Saints Church in Chigwell Row. Based on an ethos and vision of treating and supporting people with dignity and respect, the community project has become the largest emergency food support service in the Epping Forest District Council area in under six months.
