Ashland celebrates July 4 with fireworks near Community Stadium

Ashland Times Gazette ASHLAND Rotary Club of Ashland and the City of Ashland again played host to this year s Fourth of July fireworks event near Community Stadium, capping off a holiday weekend in the area that also included the Push em Pull em Parade along Ashland s Center Street and the Loudonville Car Show. The Rotary Club has participated and fostered the firework showcase for over 40 years, along with the city s assistance. All funds for the fireworks were raised by the Rotary Club, sponsors and private donations. The club raised $15,000 to pay for the fireworks provided by Pyrotecnico Fireworks based in Pennsylvania, marking the second year of partnership with the city.

Dale-Roy School playground to receive improvements

ASHLAND  Leadership Ashland has been no secret in the community, especially with its projects benefitting the community for the past couple of years. The class of 2021 has chosen its project to benefit Dale-Roy School by building an accessible playground for students. To do this, class members need to raise $20,622 to buy equipment. We know we have such a generous community, said Courtney McNaull, class member.  We ll, of course, donate ourselves and we re also hoping to secure local grant funding. The class hopes to have all fundraising completed and start building by June 10.

Ashland Rotary Super Raffle back to raise funds for July 4 fireworks

Ashland Times Gazette The Rotary Club of Ashland is bringing back its “50-50 Super Raffle” for a second year to help fund the July 4 Ashland Rotary Fireworks, according to a news release from Rotary. Tickets are $100 each with a maximum of 150 tickets sold and the winning ticket worth up to $7,500 if all the tickets are sold. The winner’s drawing will be broadcast live on the Rotary Club’s Facebook page and WRDL-88.9 during the pre-fireworks show on the evening of July 4th. Last year’s winning payout was $6,000. “While the COVID pandemic has presented many challenges and changes in our lives, there is a new sense of optimism and hope that the worst is behind us,” says Fireworks Committee chair Mitch Piskur in the release. “We hope that this year’s July 4 festivities will not only remember our nation’s heritage but will celebrate our community’s victory over COVID.”
