Methamphetamine. 36yearold Sayyadina Thomas is sitting in jail charged with felony child abuse for allegedly forcing meth into a twoyearold boys mouth. It happened monday afternoon as a boy named griffin was with his nanny and another toddler at the play structure of peoples park in berkeley. The nanny was apparently unaware that the park is frequented by the mentally ill and drug users. Witnesses say thomas saw griffin asking if he wanted candy and then grabbed him. She grabbed the child by the back of the head and forced it into his mouth. I have a doctor of my own. I reacted and ran straight up to her. She ran straight off the boys nanny checked his mouth and found nothing. Still she called Uc Berkeley Police we are at peoples park and a report of a child having something in his mouth. She told police that thomas was a stranger to them interactions were unprovoked. Officers arrested thomas who told police she gave the bowl boy a tootsie roll.
