The Cooley Peninsula Community alert group hosted an online meeting last week with Superintendent Michelle Baker from Dundalk Garda Station, Sergeant John Brady and Garda Lisa McCabe both from the Carlingford station, Councillors Antóin Watters and Andrea McKevitt, and community groups from Faughart, Omeath, and Ravensdale. Cllr Watters, who is Assistant Secretary of the Cooley Community Alert Group, raised concerns about speeding on the main road from Ballymascanlon to Greenore, especially past Bellurgan National School.

The local Sinn Fein councillor said: As a member of the Board Of Management of Bush Post Primary it is brilliant news to see significant progress being made on this project. The school is a massive asset to our area and I am looking forward to seeing the works starting. Cllr Watters said staff, students, and the whole community were overjoyed to hear the announcement that construction of the extension and refurbishment will be going to tender shortly.

Dundalk s Bush School to get major upgrade works Reporter:   ); Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) has announced the extension and part refurbishment of Bush Post Primary School in Dundalk. Mr. Martin O’Brien, Chief Executive of LMETB, has confirmed that he has got approval from the Department of Education to go to tender for the extension and refurbishment of Bush Post Primary school, located on the Cooley Peninsula. Mr. O’Brien confirmed that this was one of several very significant developments which are being managed through LMETB’s Land and Buildings Department. Ms. Sinead Murphy, Head of LMETB’s Land and Building Department described the completed extension and refurbishment as state of the art, bringing a new lease of life to the school.
