Tommy fell through the gap in a rope bridge on Monday after visiting the recently opened park in Kelty. The toddler broke his arm in two places and will have an operation on Wednesday to have pins put in place. Mum Sharon Whyte said she wanted to raise awareness of the issue and prevent future accidents at the park. The gaps in the bridge are too large, Sharon said

West Fife nurseries: Parents anger as children miss out on places

A CROSSGATES parent has accused education bosses of gambling children s futures in a ballot due to a lack of nursery places. Derek Davidson, who lives close to the village s primary school and nursery, contacted the Press after being informed that his son, Seb, had been unsuccessful in attaining a place – despite currently attending Little Blossoms, for under-threes, which is located within the building. Councillor Darren Watt, who has been working with the Davidson family, revealed that as many as half-a-dozen others have been in contact with similar concerns, and that six priority levels were used in Early Learning and Childcare Admissions Panel meetings to allocate places.
