A CROSSGATES parent has accused education bosses of gambling children s futures in a ballot due to a lack of nursery places. Derek Davidson, who lives close to the village s primary school and nursery, contacted the Press after being informed that his son, Seb, had been unsuccessful in attaining a place – despite currently attending Little Blossoms, for under-threes, which is located within the building. Councillor Darren Watt, who has been working with the Davidson family, revealed that as many as half-a-dozen others have been in contact with similar concerns, and that six priority levels were used in Early Learning and Childcare Admissions Panel meetings to allocate places.
