A CAMPAIGN for a new GP surgery to satisfy an ‘unmet need’ in Wycombe has been revived – but the location remains a mystery. A petition to ensure that a “new health centre and doctors surgery” gets the go-ahead in Downley and Disraeli wards is gaining interest – but organisers are keeping precise details of the preferred site close to their chests.

They have had “provisional conversations” with The Pastures Church about the possibility of a new health centre “within their land” – while also claiming to have “identified a location within Downley” the trio said was ‘plausible, but yet to be announced’.
Under Recreation Grounds (Local) there is a fee for £11,995. Under Allotments – £6,946.

That comes to a total of £94,890 in management fees. “Officers that may be due those management fees are employed by Buckinghamshire Council and are paid by the local authority, so this management fee would potentially duplicate funds,” claimed Cllr Ahmed. He added Wycombe had been “denied our right to a town council on the basis of its cost but this committee is being asked to support fees amounting to nearly £100,000”. Members failed to agree the Special Expenses budget and Cllr Ahmed proposed a deferral.
The minutes from that meeting only became available this week. In them, Cllr Graham repeated the contents of a letter circulated among Trustees, where he demanded the mayor step down and the deputy mayor take his place. This was largely due to Cllr Hussain wearing his mayoral chain on several occasions without permission. One occasion saw the mayor appear in a film in which local man Carlos Layne alleged he was the target of “racism” by the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) 15 years ago. At the time Cllr Hussain denied knowledge of what the recording would be used for. While Cllr Tony Green felt this was a “serious matter”, Thames Valley Police (TVP) later said Cllr Hussain s appearance in the film had not brought the relationship between the Trustees and the police into disrepute .
