Denbighshire County Council is encouraging businesses to apply for funding

FURTHER covid-19 funding is now available for the hospitality, tourism and leisure sector. Denbighshire County Council will help administer the Welsh Government funds for businesses impacted during Alert Level 2 restrictions. Businesses with a turnover greater than £85,000 can apply through the Welsh Government’s Business Wales platform while those with a turnover less than £85,000 can apply through the Council. Eligible businesses include: • Events and conference venues • Business unable to open indoors between May 1 and May 17 and who experienced a drop in turnover • Hospitality trading under Alert Level 2 conditions from May 17 to June 30 • Supply chain and related business with material impact on turnover

Rush to get share of £20m levelling up funding by Denbighshire council

The funding is being paid by government A council is in a mad dash for cash, to get a share of up to £20m in UK Government funding aimed at “levelling up” constituencies across the country. Denbighshire council’s cabinet made the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund an urgent agenda item on Tuesday. It followed news Wrexham county council was applying for up to £20m each for both Wrexham and Clwyd South constituencies, but the bids have to be in by June 18. As Clwyd South takes in part of south Denbighshire, including Corwen and Llangollen, Denbighshire was asked to submit bids for part of the cash – around £4-5m if the entire £20m award is made.
