TWO new councillors have been elected to Malton Town Council. Gill Boler and Ian Conlan will join the council following a by-election last Thursday after two vacancies arose on the council. Gill stood as a Malton resident and Nursing Sister, while Ian Conlan as a Green Party. The other candidates were Luke Campbell, Conservative Party; Sophie Legard, Conservative Party and David Lloyd-Williams, Community Candidate. The vacancies came about as a result of the resignation of Cllr Chris Turner and the death of Cllr Ed Jowitt. Gill said: “Following my recent electionl I would like to thank the many residents who voted for me, and for the kind, supportive messages I have received. I am looking forward to working with the other council members on projects that continue to develop a safe, healthy town of which we can all be proud.
