Apr 7, 2021 Two Monticello men are among employees at a Clinton County facility for at-risk teen boys that were charged last week with assaulting residents. Cecil Nevels, 24, of Monticello, was charged with two counts of fourth-degree Assault and one count of second-degree Assault. Chris Dunagan, 20, of Monticello, was charged with one count of fourth-degree Assault (child abuse). Gabriel Martin, 18, of Albany, with two counts of Assault 4th degree (child abuse). The investigation began after Kentucky State Police Post 15 in Columbia was notified March 29 by Clinton County Hospital that a boy had been brought to the facility with injuries sustained at Foothills Academy in Albany, according to Post Public Information Officer Trooper Nick Hale.

Sterling woman charged after raid results in drugs and money being seized

STERLING  An investigation resulted in a Sterling woman being arrested Friday and drugs seized. Sterling Police, in conjunction with the Northern Worcester County Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at 31 Lakeview Ave. A large quantity of heroin and fentanyl was seized, as was over $1,000 in drug proceeds. Susan Ustaitis, 48, of that address, was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin and fentanyl and possession with intent to deliver a schedule B drugs. She was arraigned Friday in Clinton District Court and held of $10,000 cash bail. She will be back in court on March 4 for pretrial. Sterling Police Chief Gary Chamberland credited Office Steve Mucci, who was recently assigned to the task force, with playing a major role in the month-long investigation.

Monticello man charged with murder after fatal collision

Jan 12, 2021 A Monticello man is facing a murder charge following a fatal crash on Ky. 90 in Clinton County on Saturday evening. Jesse Wayne Brown, 31, was arrested by Kentucky State Police on charges including Murder, first-degree Wanton Endangerment; Speeding 26 mph or greater; Operating a Motor Vehicle While a Motor Vehicle DUI 1st offense, aggravating circumstance; and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. KSP s Columbia Post received a call Saturday evening from Clinton County 911 Dispatch requesting assistance on a two-vehicle collision that had resulted in a fatality. The preliminary investigation indicates that Jesse Brown was driving a 1999 Chevy Silverado westbound on Ky. 90. Brown was reported to be holding a seven-month-old child in his lap when he entered the eastbound lane and struck a 2012 Ford Focus operated by 61-year-old Debra Brown of Albany head on. Debra Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County Coroner.
