Police in modesto are still piecing together the details. Heres what we know. At 3 30 this afternoon. Officers were called for a Security Check on a home on the 26,000 block. When they arrived they found five body two. Adults. Three children. Police have not released details on how the people may have been killed. But in the last hour, they have i identified 30yearold Martin Martinez as a person of interest in what they say is the Murder Investigation. Fire raced across a mountainous area 55 miles northeast of los angeles friday. Drivers panicked as the flames jumped a busy interstate from los angeles to las vegas. Catching drivers by surprise. It startedded to go really quickly up the mountain. Fire Officials Say 40mile an hour winds made the fire fight difficult. That wind, boy, that was a tough drop. The nearly six square mile blaze destroyed everything in its path, including 60 vehicles and three homes in the community of baldy mesa, and its still racing toward another 700 homes. Nearly 2800 people remain evacuated. Another wild fire is burning out of control. Overnight, hundreds of campers, including girl scouts were forced to leave the community. The fire has destroyed 125 acres. So far, its about 10 contained. Rain in the forecast could help firefighters gain control of both fires.
