edge on this one. here s another one, texting and driving isn t just a teen thing anymore. everybody is doing it. it s the largest highway construction zone area in the country now. reporter: aaa s john townsend is talking about the massive construction projectunder way along the beltway near tysons corner making driving hazardous at best, but here s the stunner. in september his agency surveyed 1,000 drivers who travel the northern virginia beltway regularly and 55% admit to being on their cell phones not just talking, but texting, too. you re playing with fire. you really are putting yourself in harm s way and because the lanes are so narrow and much of that construction in much of that construction area, you are jeopardizing the lives of other drivers and there are 2,000 construction workers in that area. reporter: what s more, half of them said they were responding to their jobs. all of us because the state of the economy and also because the pressures on the

outside centerpoint. it is a bit tough to say. this is 95 in the white march region. so far running smoothly. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. . in the white marsh region. a violent weekend in baltimore city. six people were shot. kim dacey is live at police headquarters with the details. good morning. two people are dead, five others injured as a result of the violence. it was a busy weekend for city police officers. a rash of violence broke out early on west baltimore street. one person was shot in the head. he was rushed to hospital where he later died. later, a man walked into a hospital for treatment. he had been shot on east lafayette street. and 18-year-old show up at a hospital, suffering from gunshot wound. another man was shot. david hawkins was stabbed in the back around 10:00 p.m. saturday night. this was on southeast avenue, east of patterson park. he later died. according to police, the victim and a friend had a confrontation. somebody inside the

a plane with something they could have found on a pat-down. but the new pat-down is very up close and personal. they n use their fingers to feel. the scanner shows private, sensitive areas, but they re also the areas that have been used by would-be terrorists. we feel this is the best technology to see the explosive devices we know have been used before. most notably by the underwear bomber that tried to blow up a plane on the way to detroit. every passenger we talked to seemed okay with the system. it s procedure. it s only invasive to a point. idon t think it s invasive at all. we get threats day by day. i don t know where we drawn the line. but the americ civil libertys union says the line has already been crossed. we re troubled that they give two intolerable options. you can either ha a strip search or intolerable body probes. if you op against the scanner, if you decide to get the pat-down instead, you can request to have that pat-down in private, and we
