Now, this was the scene outside department 13 just over an hour ago as Kate Steinles mother and brother arrived with a sheriffs escort without making any comment to the family. There was no sign of Kate Steinles father. We smoke with matt gonzalez. Hes the lawyer for the defendant. He is an undocumented immigrant who has been deported five times before he allegedly shot and killed steinle while she walked with her father on San Franciscos pier 14. This is back in july of 2015. Steinle, who is from pleasanton, was 32 years old. Gonzalez this morning tells us hi will argue that this shooting was accidental.
