Closed down here mission at 22nd. You mentioned one person died in the fire. 6 people were injured and 40 people were left homeless this morning. Debris falling from the building on to the street below last night. This fire was intense as you can see. Parts of the ceiling of this mixed use building collapsed making fighting this fire very, very difficult. It started before 7 p. M. The top floor of that building is all homes so firefighters were working fever,ly to search for people who may still be inside the building while trying to keep the fire from spreading. But there came a point where they just had to step away. That was an allout evacuation call for the firefighters to first of all we made the call to get them off the roof because the roof became untenable. Reporter six people were taken to the hospital and one man, who was evacuated from the building, died.
