Cleveland Fed s chief operating officer announces retirement

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is in the market for a new chief operating officer.
The Cleveland Fed on Thursday, May 20, announced that Gregory L. Stefani, its first vice president and COO, will retire from the bank on Jan. 31, 2022.
Dwight Smith, chair of the Cleveland Fed s board of directors, will lead a committee of eligible directors to search for Stefani s successor, the bank said in a news release.
Stefani, 60, who was appointed to his current position in 2011, is the second-ranking official of the Cleveland Fed. He s responsible for overseeing a broad range of services to financial institutions, the U.S. Treasury and other stakeholders, the bank said, as well as maintaining a strong control environment and risk management program and ensure that the bank has leadership strength, succession planning, and a diverse workfor
