Three Tigers Named to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Putting in work on and off the court, Clemson women’s basketball student-athletes Kendall Spray, Amari Robinson, and Delicia Washington have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team, as announced the league office on Wednesday. Student-athletes must have earned a minimum 3.0 grade point average from the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 grade point average during their academic career in order to be eligible for the All-ACC Academic Team. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team. Washington was named Second Team All-ACC, while Spray and Robinson have started every game for the Tigers this season.

Katsiyannis named University s faculty athletic representative – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

Alumni Distinguished Professor Antonis Katsiyannis has been named Clemson’s faculty athletic representative (FAR) by Clemson University President Jim Clements. “Dr. Katsiyannis is an outstanding leader who cares deeply for our students. I worked with him previously when he was President of the Faculty Senate, and I saw firsthand his dedication and commitment to the University,” said President Jim Clements. “I am very thankful for Dr. Janie Hodge, and I appreciate her years of excellent service as our Faculty Athletics Representative. I know that Antonis will continue to ensure that our student-athletes excel in the classroom.” The faculty athletic representative represents the University and its faculty in the University’s relationships with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). They must be a tenured associate or full professor who has served on Clemson’s faculty a minimum of ten years.

Washington, Elliott Earn All-ACC Honors

Washington, Elliott Earn All-ACC Honors CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson senior Delicia Washington and freshman Gabby Elliott each earned All-ACC honors, it was announced today by the league office. Washington was named second-team All-ACC by both the league’s head coaches and Blue Ribbon Panel, while Elliott was named to the All-Freshman team by both groups. Washington is Clemson’s first All-ACC selection since Kobi Thornton in 2019 (second team) and just the fourth in the last 17 seasons. Washington leads the Tigers in scoring (15.6 ppg), rebounding (6.0 rpg) and assists (3.4 apg) and is the only player in the conference to lead her team in all three categories. Washington surpassed the 1,000 career point mark earlier this season, and has scored in double-figures in every game since coming back from an ankle injury in mid-December.

Clemson Opens Spring Season Ranked No 1

United Soccer Coaches Release || Clemson Men's Soccer Media Resources KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In the first 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Spring Rankings, United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday that it has ranked the Clemson men's soccer program No. 1. Clemson garnered 16 of the 26 first-place votes in the poll. The Tigers receive the ranking ahead of their spring season opener against Syracuse on Sunday, March 7, at 5 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field. Clemson returns to action after going 8-2-1 this past fall, winning its final three matches of the season en route to capturing the program's 15th ACC Championship. The Tigers were unanimously ranked No. 1 following their success in the 2020 ACC Tournament.  The 2021 spring season will continue Clemson's fall campaign, as the Tigers' record, statistics and disciplinary record will all carry over to the spring season. Clemson Falls to Miami on Senior Day

Clemson Falls to Miami on Senior Day CLEMSON, S.C.  Closing out the regular season with a back-and-forth affair versus Miami, Clemson fell at Littlejohn Coliseum on Sunday. The Tigers were unable to record a victory on Senior Day, as the Hurricanes won 68-62. From the field, the Tigers (10-12, 5-12) shot 34.4 percent, while the Hurricanes (11-10, 8-10) shot 45.3 percent. Clemson poured in eight 3-pointers, two more than the ‘Canes made, and went 10-for-14 at the free throw line. The Tigers also won the rebounding battle 42-35, including an 18-9 edge on the offensive glass, and scored 20 points off Miami’s 14 turnovers. Also of note, Clemson registered 20 bench points, 16 points in the paint and 12 assists.
