The Journey to Fayetteville: Terryon Conwell
Ahead of the 2021 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., we’ll highlight each of Clemson’s six entries by recapping their spectacular indoor seasons thus far!
At the Orange & Purple Elite on Jan. 9, Terryon Conwell burst onto the scene for the Clemson Tigers by running a school record in the men’s 300 meters. By running 32.97 seconds to break the previous record by .23 and become the first Tiger to go sub-33, Conwell asserted himself as one of the top sprinters in the NCAA.
Conwell rode the momentum from his school-record performance into the Bob Pollock Invitational, Clemson’s fourth meet of the season. Conwell was only slated to contest one individual event at the meet, the 200m, and all indicators on the day pointed towards him recording an NCAA-qualifying time. The senior from Decatur, Ga., didn’t disappoint once the gun was fired, crossing the line in 20.75 to become the No. 7 performer al
