Hands Up Lake County 2024 is accepting applications through May 31, 2024. The nonprofit, 1Team 1Dream, encourages small businesses and startups to apply for the one-of-a-kind competition that offers a “hand up” to those willing to put their ideas and plans to the test.
At this week’s Judge’s Breakfast in Clearlake on Thursday, Clearlake City Manager Alan Flora presented on new technologies being used by the city, with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs. Other technologies include new camera systems and other software for monitoring potential wildfires as well as uses in law enforcement.

James Sookne from Davey Bates Consulting spoke at Thursday’s Judge’s Breakfast in Clearlake regarding plans for the new Regional Transit Center. Sookne works with both the Lake Transit Authority and the Lake Area Planning Council to establish a new Regional Transit Center for Lake County.
At their weekly meeting on Tuesday at 9 a.m. the Lake County Supervisors considered a letter requesting that the California Department of Public Health reconsider the state’s approval of Any Positive Change’s application to provide syringe services in Lake County.
