Telangana schools to reopen for Classes 6-8 from Feb 24
As part of the decision to resume normal classes in schools in Telangana, the state government on Tuesday decided to reopen schools for classes 6 to 8 from February 24. As per the directives of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar held a teleconference with all district Collectors, District Education Officers (DEOs) and other officials.
The Chief Secretary (CS) directed that classes should start from Wednesday as far as possible and not later than March 1, an official release said.
About 17.24 lakh students, in addition to the students (of ninth and 10th standard) who are already attending, would be attending school.
NOIDA: Some of the city’s leading private schools have decided to reopen for classes 6-8 in a staggered manner, but with an option to parents to continue with online classes if they are not comfortable sending their children to campuses.
While some schools have decided to call students in a few days, a few others have said they will resume offline classes only in the new academic session, which is scheduled to begin next month. A recent UP government order has asked schools to call students classes 6-8 back to campuses but has also specified that they should take the consent of parents. According to the All School Parents’ Association (ASPA), an internal survey has revealed that almost 90% of the parents are skeptical about sending their children to school.
