Telangana to reopen schools for classes 6th to 8th
Telangana government on Tuesday decided to allow the reopening of schools for classes 6th to 8th from Wednesday. The decision was taken a teleconference Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar conducted with all the district collectors, district educational officers, district welfare officers of backward classes, minority and tribal welfare, and scheduled caste development departments.
Chief Secretary directed that classes should start from February 24 as far as possible and not later than March 1.
About 17.24 lakh students in addition to the existing number are likely to be attending school from classes 6th to 8th. Chief Secretary also directed that District Level Education Monitoring Committee (DLEMC) chaired by the District Collector should meet and ensure the reopening of schools.

Telangana schools to reopen for Classes 6-8 from Feb 24
As part of the decision to resume normal classes in schools in Telangana, the state government on Tuesday decided to reopen schools for classes 6 to 8 from February 24. As per the directives of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar held a teleconference with all district Collectors, District Education Officers (DEOs) and other officials.
The Chief Secretary (CS) directed that classes should start from Wednesday as far as possible and not later than March 1, an official release said.
About 17.24 lakh students, in addition to the students (of ninth and 10th standard) who are already attending, would be attending school.
