HINSDALE, IL For the third straight week, Hinsdale has seen its percentage increases in coronavirus cases drop, according to county health agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,496 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 19 from a week before, or a 1.3 percent hike. The previous two weeks were 2.2 percent and 3.2 percent.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 820 as of Sunday, up 25 from a week before, or a 3 percent increase. The village saw a 2.2 percent hike the week before.

HINSDALE, IL Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills saw about the same percentage rates of increase in coronavirus cases last week as they have in recent weeks, according to county agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,368 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 15 from a week before, or a 1.1 percent hike. The previous week s increase was 1.3 percent.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 745 as of Sunday, up a dozen from a week before, or a 1.6 percent increase. The village saw a 1.7 percent hike the week before.
Seitchik, who is a transfeminine non-binary person and uses “they/them” pronouns, would be among the first openly non-binary city councilors elected in the country, as more openly transgender people than ever run for local office in 2021.
They are a community organizer and two-term co-chair of the Boston Democratic Socialists of America, a group with nearly 3,000 members in Eastern Massachusetts and over 300 in Somerville. Nationally, DSA has grown to over 85,000 members since 2016, fueled by resistance to Trump and inspiring electoral victories from California to Chicago to New York.
In October 2020, Boston DSA member Erika Uyterhoeven won her race to serve as State Representative for Somerville’s 27th Middlesex District, with Seitchik serving as her campaign’s treasurer. Seitchik is currently seeking Boston DSA’s endorsement.
