ELMHURST, IL For the third week in a row, Elmhurst has seen a drop in its percentage hike in coronavirus cases, according to the DuPage County Health Department.
As of Sunday, the city had 4,274 cases, an increase of 47 cases from the week before, or a 1.1 percent hike. The previous week, it was 1.3 percent.
The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.

As of Sunday, the number of coronavirus-related deaths in Elmhurst stayed the same in the last week, at 66. The mortality rate among those locally with the coronavirus is 1.5 percent.

Elmhurst s rate of increase of 1.3 percent was lower than DuPage County s hike of 1.6 percent in the last week. Elmhurst makes up 5.2 percent of the county s population and 5.2 percent of the county s coronavirus caseload.
As of Sunday, Elmhurst had 90.4 coronavirus cases per thousand people since the pandemic s beginning. The figure compares to 77.8 in Darien, 80.7 in La Grange Park, 87.4 in DuPage County, 88.1 in Western Springs, 88.4 in Hinsdale, 95.7 in Clarendon Hills, 96.3 in suburban Cook County, 100.8 in Burr Ridge and 111.6 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).

HINSDALE, IL For the third straight week, Hinsdale has seen its percentage increases in coronavirus cases drop, according to county health agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,496 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 19 from a week before, or a 1.3 percent hike. The previous two weeks were 2.2 percent and 3.2 percent.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 820 as of Sunday, up 25 from a week before, or a 3 percent increase. The village saw a 2.2 percent hike the week before.
