Roosevelt Park Zoo’s African zookeeper Taylor Jundt got her start at the zoo in Minot as a ZooTeen when she was a seventh-grader. ZooTeen is a multifaceted volunteer program that allows teens to fit their wish to assist at the zoo during the summer months and can extend into yearround. The program began in the 1980s. As the African zookeeper Jundt, of Minot, takes care of the giraffes, zebras, African lions, bongo, warthogs and others in that area of the zoo.

Las Cruces father who kidnapped children and took them to Mexico sentenced to 35 years From Staff Reports, Las Cruces Sun-News © Las Cruces Police Department Clarence Michael Ransom ALBUQUERQUE - A father who took his two children from a Las Cruces daycare before being found and arrested by police in Mexico, was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for that crime and others on Wednesday, Jan. 20. Clarence Michael Ransom, 53, of Las Cruces, pleaded guilty on June 23 to attempted production of child pornography, international parental kidnapping and failure to report international travel as a sex offender. Ransom admitted to kidnapping his two children from their mother, who he shared custody with, and fleeing with them to Mexico on Oct. 8, 2019.
