Reporter she was one of a handful of women who came to the California Coastal commission hoping to put pressure on mavericks organizers to bring true gender equity to the event. Theres definitely sexism out there. Theres no doubt about it. Reporter the committee for equity and womens surfing says mavericks plan for a womens heat doesnt go far enough and says the prize money a total purse of 120,000 for the men and 30,000 for the women is obviously unequal. The group wants the commission to deny mavericks fouryear use permit application and cut it down to one year to leverage a full Womens Division in 2017 and beyond. The new service runs from coliseum station to the airport. And thats where christian is tonight. Christian, what do travelers think about it so far . Well, so far they like it. It seems they like it. It is double the cost of the now obsolete air bart buses that used to shuttle people from the coliseum bart station to the airport. But so far, people dont seem to be upset by the additional cost. Now this project was envisioned more than two decades ago and took four years to build. Finally, the 3. 2mile track over to the airport is being used. These trams will arrive every five minutes and 8 minute ride one way. Many passengers say thats much quicker than the old buses. I have done the air bus many times and starting to avoid that.
