St. Clair Township council wants a Chinese glass company to build a $380-million plant in the municipality.
Councillors agreed on Feb. 16 to send a letter of support to Xinyi Glass Canada, encouraging the company to “strongly consider” locating the new plant within St. Clair.

Earlier that same day, the company said it was “indefinitely suspending” plans to build the plant in Stratford, blaming that city’s council for dragging its feet in the face of criticism from opponents of the deal.
