Man Arrested in Connection to Thefts in the Swan Valley Will Return to Court in March

By Ryan Young Feb 4, 2021 6:37 PM A new court date has been set for one of two men, arrested in connection with some thefts in the Swan Valley. Last April, Mounties executed a search warrant at a property in the R.M. of Minitonas-Bowsman, which resulted in the recovery of stolen property, including a side-by-side ATV. 30-year-old Lance Manaigre had his matter heard in Swan River yesterday (WED), where it was adjourned until March 1st. In November, his co-accused, 24-year-old Harley Audy, received a total of eight-hundred dollars in fines, after pleading guilty to Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and a separate charge of Driving While Prohibited.

Roughriders Release Defensive End Charleston Hughes

By Ryan Young The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released American defensive end Charleston Hughes. Hughes was scheduled to become a free agent on February 9. “After ongoing negotiations that took place over the last several weeks, we were unable to come to an agreement with Charleston,” said Vice President of Football Operations Jeremy O’Day. “While we are disappointed, we want to thank Charleston for his dedication to the Riders and to the Saskatchewan community during his time with the Club.”  Hughes signed with the Roughriders after being traded to Saskatchewan in February of 2018. He went on to play 34 regular season games in green and white, making 85 defensive tackles, 31 sacks, seven forced fumbles and scoring two touchdowns. He also played in two playoff games making six tackles and a sack. Federal Money Provided to Dauphin For Installation of Rapid Electric Vehicle Charger

By Ryan Young Feb 2, 2021 6:19 PM Funding has been provided to the city of Dauphin to encourage the use of zero-emission vehicles. 50-thousand dollars has been provided to the city for the installation of a Rapid Electric Vehicle charger. The investment also supports business development and tourism in the region, by ensuring that electric vehicles can get from Dauphin to Winnipeg and other Canadian destinations. The project is viewed as a step for the federal government to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
