SAPS suspends VIP Protection Unit officer accused of triple murder News24 11 May 2021, 23:41 GMT+10 The SAPS has suspended Warrant Officer Ronnie Doko after he was arrested for the murder of three people in the Eastern Cape, during a land dispute. The long standing dispute took a deadly turn after the Centane church started building a church hall on a piece of land which was previously borrowed to Doko by a local village headman. The Police, Prisons and Civil Rights Union said the incident destroys the trust the union has worked so hard to build between the police and civilians. The SAPS has suspended a Mthatha VIP Protection Unit member after he was arrested by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) for allegedly murdering three people including his church pastor over a land dispute last week.
