CHENGDU, June 27 (Xinhua) People traveling from Chengdu in southwest China s Sichuan Province can now check in their baggage from their hotels and board their flights using facial recognition at the new Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, which opened for operations on Sunday.
Located some 50 km from downtown Chengdu, the Tianfu airport is the largest civil transport airport built during China s 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020) and the second international airport in the provincial capital, Chengdu.
With first-phase investment exceeding 75 billion yuan (about 11.7 billion U.S. dollars), the airport has two terminals totaling 710,000 square meters, roughly the size of 100 football pitches, and is capable of dealing with an annual passenger throughput of 60 million.

The Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) has agreed to acquire a Cessna Citation M2 Level D flight simulator from TRU Simulation + Training that will support the school’s fleet of four M2 light jets delivered this year. It will be the first Level D M2 simulator to operate outside the U.S.
“This agreement is the latest in a long history of support to both CAFUC and to the Civil Aviation Administration of China,” said TRU v-p and general manager Gerald Messaris. “We are pleased to continue that relationship by providing CAFUC with advanced technology and a world-class flight simulator to enhance the work of the school in support of China’s aviation industry.”

TAMPA, Fla. – December 16, 2020 –TRU Simulation + Training announced today it has signed an agreement with the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) to build and install a Cessna Citation M2 light jet Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS) at the training center in Guanghan, China, to support CAFUC’s fleet of new Citation M2 aircraft delivered this year.
