This is the first in a series of short articles on developments in flight simulation training devices for military, human-in-the-cockpit, rotary- and fixed wing aircraft. These articles will include “deep dives,” highlighting innovations in the devices themselves and in their underpinning technology foundations. Additionally, the series will identify the collaborative industry teams and acquisition program dynamics enabling the delivery of new FSTDs. The training devices in these articles will be randomly selected from military training enterprises around the globe.

TRU Simulation + Training Signs Full Flight Simulator Agreement with CAFUC

Wichita KS USA TAMPA, Fla.  – December 16, 2020 –TRU Simulation + Training announced today it has signed an agreement with the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) to build and install a Cessna Citation M2 light jet Level D Full Flight Simulator (FFS) at the training center in Guanghan, China, to support CAFUC’s fleet of new Citation M2 aircraft delivered this year. Morocco orders virtual parachute training system

defenceWeb Written by defenceWeb - Morocco has ordered a virtual parachute training system from the United Kingdom’s Pennant International. In late October the company said the order covers one Student Jump Station and Instructor Operating Station of the ‘Lite’ variant and will be based on the generic software that is in service with various military schools. Pennant International said the contract marks the first sale of a virtual parachute training system “following internal investment and a product development exercise, but this is also Pennant’s first direct contract win into Africa and to a new customer.” Pennant had been in discussion with the Moroccan customer since the I/ITSEC exhibition in 2018, where the UK team exhibited a range of Pennant’s capabilities, including a variant of the parachute trainer.
