Donation made to My Name 5 Doddie Foundation

More than £5,000 has been raised for the charity founded by Doddie Weir which supports those affected by motor neurone disease. Coun. Ian Hutchinson, who is the council’s Civic Head, selected the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation as one of his chosen charities for his time in office. Rugby legend Doddie, who revealed in 2017 he was suffering from motor neurone disease, founded the charity, which aims to aid research into the disease and support those affected. Coun. Hutchinson said: “This has been a very tough time for everyone, and many of my fundraising activities have had to be cancelled, but I have been heartened by the generosity of so many people.
