A SMALL ceremony has been held to commemorate 100 years of the Royal British Legion. On Saturday members of the Witham branch attended a ceremony at the Witham Memorial to coincide with wreath laying at the Cenotaph and many other branches of the Legion throughout the UK. Chairman Tom Pleasance and president Colonel Charles Thomas TD DL were both in attendance. New mayor Angela Kilmartin was also in attendance along with her deputy Jack Bayford. The Witham branch of the Royal British Legion will be celebrating 100 years on July 27th with a church service at St Nicolas Church.
