The cash-strapped MC in Ludhiana has launched a drive to recover pending rent from tenants. Notices are being served to defaulters who have not paid rent to the civic body. The drive aims to achieve the income target of around Rs 10 crore from rental properties. If defaulters do not clear their dues, the civic body will seal shops. The rental properties are located in zones A, C, and D. The MC is checking records and preparing a list of defaulters to issue notices. The civic body can earn a good amount of revenue from these rental properties if they implement a rent revision.
