Defacement of public places is rampant in the twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad. Civic authorities have turned a blind eye to the issue. Color My City, an NGO, painted the walls in public places with pictures of historical monuments, events, among other things.
Despite tall claims of cleanliness made by the civic authorities, the ground reality paints a picture of apathy. Residents have expressed resentment over the poor hygiene and working of sanitation staff.
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday rapped the civic authorities over the issue of water-logging in the national capital and said that the drainage system here is “totally pathetic” and is in “very bad.
