Supplied photo Municipal fire departments in the Kenora and Rainy River districts are getting some extra funding from the province. It comes from a pot of five million being made available to fire department across the province to help them with things like training and inspection programs, which have been impacted by the pandemic. “Across the Kenora-Rainy River Riding, a number of fire services are receiving support for their ongoing programs,” said Greg Rickford, MPP for Kenora-Rainy River in a release. “Support for training and safety inspection programs is important to these local services across our region and I appreciate the continued efforts of our fire service first responders and their ongoing personnel development initiatives.”
