In an environment where dissidence is considered an act of rebellion, even sedition, where people are thrown into jail for standing up for rights, and where even a cartoon or a joke can get the politicians riled up, some Indians have let it be known that they will not get cowed down. Especially when it comes to matters of dignity and livelihood.

New Delhi: Congress leader Manish Tewari on Friday said that he was deeply disturbed by the raids carried out by Delhi Police at the office of Advocate Mehmood Pracha, one of the lawyers appearing in the Delhi Riots and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) cases.
Taking to Twitter, the former union minister of Information and Broadcasting urged the Bar Council of India should take up this arbitrary harassment as soon as possible.
