WILTSHIRE charity, Alzheimer’s Support, is moving to new offices in Trowbridge from Monday (April 19). The dementia charity has relocated from Park House, Trowbridge, to new premises at Bryer Ash, near the railway station. Alzheimer s Support, which started in Trowbridge 31 years ago, will share Trinity House with Wiltshire Citizen’s Advice, which has already moved from its home in Mill Street. The charities realised they were searching for new premises at the same time and were delighted to find an office that suited them both. Alzheimer’ Support chief executive Babs Harris said: “We are of course sorry to leave Park House, which has been a wonderful home for the past decade.

Staff and volunteers at Citizens Advice Wiltshire have helped 1,574 people with Universal Credit since March last year. They say around 56 per cent of people in Wiltshire seeking advice on benefits have never contacted the charity before. The charity, which has continued to provide one-to-one support throughout the pandemic, warns that local families could be pushed into further hardship if the £20 a week Universal Credit uplift ends as planned in April.
Trinity Chippenham will be launching its debt centre in March thanks to a grant from Wiltshire Community Foundation’s Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund A NEW debt advice centre is being launched in Chippenham after its organisers were moved by fears for families struggling because of the pandemic. Trinity Chippenham, a church based in the town, has been awarded £20,000 from Wiltshire Community Foundation’s Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund towards employing a manager and setting up costs. The fund has already raised £1.2 million and distributed more than £1 million through more than 200 grants to groups across the county. The church has been worshipping at Hardenhuish School for three years but had to move to St Andrews during the pandemic.
