Over 1,500 complaints of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations in Rajasthan have been registered on the cVigil app in the last week, with an average of 200 complaints daily since March 16. The app resolves complaints within 100 minutes, with Tonk district receiving the highest number of complaints. Prompt action is being taken on complaints related to posters and banners, while complaints about the distribution of liquor or money increase closer to the polling date.
To keep the elections clean and inclusive, the Election Commission (EC) announced a spate of transfers of officials and cleared nearly 32,000 complaints. On October 26, EC issued notice to two stalwart leaders, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of BJP and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. It s no coincidence, however, that only a few notices have been occasioned at the top level till now.
