To make sure that the Citizens Police commission is more independent in its decision making. The oakland Police Commission was established by voters back in 2016. Under measure l l earlier this year, the commission made headlines when it was involved in the firing of former Oakland Police chief Anne Kirkpatrick the lead author of the Measure Council member Rebecca Kaplan says this will protect the cities.
