From this February, Aussies can register for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) inaugural national Dance for Sick Kids fundraiser.
The week-long dance challenge will take place from May 15 to 21, raising money for seriously ill and injured children and their families across the country.
By pledging to dance between 30 and 120 minutes per day for one week, all funds raised will go back to those in need.
You can join local teenager Katie Everett as she prepares to raise funds for the charity that supported her family through a three month stay at Ronald McDonald House in Hobart after she was born prematurely at 26 weeks. Katie’s goal of fundraising $320 will help to cover the cost of two nights for one family to stay at Ronald McDonald House.

A community meeting hosted by the Circular Head Coastal Awareness Network (CHCAN) at the Smithton Recreation attracted 150 locals keen to learn both sides of the narrative in regards to the Robbins Island Renewable Energy Park application set to be tabled early this year.
Emcee Leanne Minshull was joined by Michael Anderson, Craig Garland and Ben Marshall on the panel, as well as Birdlife expert Eric Woehler joining the meeting via Zoom.
The group touched on a wealth of concerns, namely the environmental impact of the transmission line, the impact of putting a bridge across Robbins Passage, the impact on birdlife, the lack of benefits to the local community, the Marinus Link and concerns about jobs being outsourced to fly in fly out workers among other things.

Tarkine Animal Park has been forced to close its doors indefinitely after the lease was cut three years short on December 17 when foreign investors placed the property on the market.
The popular tourist destination first shut down in March as a COVID-19 safety measure and was due to reopen in mid July, but when the time came owner Crighton Horton and business partner Ingrid Oosting were asked to address a number of issues to bring the park in line with council regulations.
Finally ironing it all out in late December, the lease was cut, forcing Crighton to find a new place for his animals.
