we ll get a vote today. maybe not. yeah, there s a bit of a blame game mode at the white house and also on capitol hill, a circular firing squad, finger pointing, all of it happening this morning within the democratic party because they have to do some soul-searching here on the path forward. the president did argue his main takeaway was that voters were not happy with the inaction in terms of his economic agenda and that had something passed, maybe it would have made a difference. he said he didn t want to have to wednesday morning quarterback too much about that. he doesn t know whether that would have actually had an impact, but he does want to try to galvanize the momentum going forward, making that pitch. but just today, we re hearing from different democrats about their takeaways and some of them are saying the lesson may have actually been to slow down and get this right, to your point, maybe voters were actually rejecting what the president and this white house had put on the
bills and the fighting the negotiating between the democrats about what to do is the incredible silence of the republicans in all of this. unbelievable silence. what, they don t care about roads and bridges? what are they up to, tara? well, jonathan, i ve got news for you, the democrats are fighting. and this is, you know, a fight that i know the white house does not want. this doesn t look good for them and republicans are sitting back and watching this unfold. they re allowing this democratic circular firing squad go on and they re saying, we ll let them destroy themselves. we don t need to do anything here. so, you know, it s a political axiom. don t get involved in that political fight when your enemy is destroying themselves. i think this is what the republicans are doing though. don t think they re just sitting back and drinking their scotch at the capitol hill club. they are definitely strategizing
our vital national interest at this point? when we look at this, i think the ending was is really tragic. it s horrible to see the humanitarian chaos there and the fear, and naturally, we wish we could do something to alleviate it. and i hope the presence of our troops will provide some bit of stability there. i hope we will be able to get out the after begans who worked with us that we have a sense of obligation toward. but we have to understand that we have other competing national interests. we have to try to avoid this sort of circular firing squad that s starting in right now, pointing fingers at everybody, trying to make this a political issue in the united states. the truth is all administrations made errors in judgment. they had bad policies. there was bad reporting. there s plenty of blame to go around for everybody. sure. what we have to do now is pick up the pieces and move forward with america s national interests doing the best we can
