C&I Leasing Plc yesterday announced the purchase of 313,326,316 units of the Neoma Africa Fund L.L.C by Peace Mass Transit Limited.
This was disclosed by the company in a statement signed by the Company Secretary, Mbanugo Udenze & Co, a copy of which was posted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange website.
“C&I Leasing Plc notifies the Exchange and the investing public of the purchase of 313,326,316 units of the Neoma Africa Fund L.L.C. (formerly Aureos Africa Fund, L.L.C.) unsecured variable coupon redeemable convertible loan stock in registered units of N4.75 each or its US$ equivalent in C&I Leasing Plc by Peace Mass Transit Limited,” it stated.

This was disclosed by the company in a statement issued and signed by the Company Secretary, Mbanugo Udenze & Co.
When fully converted, the loan stock will result in the issuance of 987,500,000 (Nine Hundred and Eighty-Seven Million and Five Hundred Thousand) Ordinary Shares of the Company.

The Chairman and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Peace Mass Transit Limited, Dr. Sam Maduka Onyishi, has assured shareholders and other stakeholders of C & I Leasing Plc that the buying into the company by Peace Mass Transit would lead to better return on investments.
Actis LLP (Actis), a private equity investment firm, which invested in C & I Leasing Plc in 2010, has successfully exited its stake in through a trade sale of its loan stock with all the rights to Peace Mass Transit. Upon conversion of the loan stock into equity, Peace Mass Transit would become the single largest shareholder in C & I Leasing Plc.

Equity trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed on the positive note with a gain of N214bn as the bulls sustained grip on trading activities.
The market performance indices, the NSE ASI appreciated by 1.03 per cent with market breathe closing positive with 23 gainers against 19 losers.
Consequently, the All-Share Index gained 402.14 basis points or 1.03 per cent to close at 39,512.31 as against 39,110.17 recorded the previous day while the market capitalisation of equities appreciated by N214bn to close at N20.66tn from N20.45tn as market sentiment remained on the green zone.
