The ANC provincial leadership has been accused of using the Amathole District Municipality’s development agency, Aspire, as “a cash cow”.The explosive allegations come after authorities unveiled a new acting Aspire CEO again.
Cash-strapped Amathole district municipality’s development agency, Aspire, now has two CEOs, who simultaneously assumed duties on Tuesday. Akhona Tinta, who has been acting in the position, was permanently employed by the now dissolved Aspire board in September. Tinta confirmed that she had reported for duty as the CEO on Tuesday, but would not comment further.
Chwayita Stofile, a close ally of Amathole district municipality chief whip Nanziwe Rulashe, has been included in the interim board of the municipality’s development agency, Aspire. A report, to be tabled in a special council meeting on Tuesday, containing the names of the interim board members has been leaked to DispatchLIVE.
